Nutritional FAQs

Do your chocolates have allergens in them such as soy, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, and gluten?
All of our chocolates (Milk, Dark, White) contain minimally milk and soy allergens. Some of our products contain peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and/or wheat (gluten); it varies by product and we do not guarantee that any are entirely free of trace amounts of these allergenic ingredients. All of Fowler’s candies are manufactured in the same factory with shared equipment and utensils, posing the risk of allergen cross-contamination.

Are your chocolates Kosher?
Fowler’s candies are not classified as Kosher.

Are any of your chocolates Vegetarian or Vegan?

Sponge Candy contains animal-based gelatin protein obtained from collagen extracted from bovine hide (beef from cow). This applies to all flavors of Sponge Candy: milk, dark and orange.

Do you sell Sugar Free chocolates?
Some of our retail locations carry candies that are sugar free. We do not offer sugar free candies online. You can always call in an order at 800-824-2263

Are your chocolates Gluten Free?

Most Fowler’s products are gluten free. However, Buffaloreos and Chocolate Covered Pretzels are run down the same production line. If you have a severe gluten allergy, please note that we do not manufacture to the requirements of the Gluten-Free Certification Program and therefore cannot make any claims that our products are gluten-free.


Are any of your chocolates Dairy Free?
No, our dark, milk, and white chocolates contain either whole milk and or butter fats which are both considered dairy products.

Our Milk Chocolate contains: [Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Soy Lecithin, and Vanillin (an artificial flavor). Dark Chocolate: [Sugar, Chocolate Liquor (processed with alkali), Cocoa Butter, Milkfat, Soy Lecithin, and Vanilla. White Chocolate: [Sugar, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil, Whey Powder, Whole Milk Powder, Nonfat Milk Powder, Soy Lecithin (an emulsifier), Vanillin, Salt.

Do You Accept Donation Requests?
Fowler’s Chocolates and its associates are committed to giving back to our community. We receive numerous donations requests throughout the year and are unable to respond to every request we receive. If your organization is in need of raising funds, we offer exceptional fundraising products with no minimums. Many organizations successfully use our products to augment their fundraising campaigns. Do You Do Factory Tours?
Yes we do an annual factory tour over Veterans weekend November 9th and 11th. This year we are so excited to have the NFL Legend, Andre Reed here with us to help us raise money for his Read for Reed 83 Foundation. Buy your ticket HERE
  • Duration: The tour runs from 9 AM to 3 PM daily, the tour is self guided. The tour is closed from 12-1pm. 
  • Meet NFL legend Andre Reed in person from 9 AM to 3 PM ONLY on November 11th. It's a unique opportunity to interact with this football icon.
  • Charitable Cause: The tour will support the Read with Reed 83 Foundation which builds Reading Rooms at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western New York. Your participation directly contributes to this noble cause.
  • Sponge Candy Production: Learn the art of making Fowler's famous sponge candy. Discover the secrets and techniques behind this delectable treat.
  • Tastings: Indulge in scrumptious chocolate samples as you tour the factory. Experience the flavors and quality that have made Fowler's a Buffalo favorite since 1910.
  • Children 3 and under are free and do not need a ticket.
  • Tickets are not refundable and the event is rain or shine.
  • Your receipt is your ticket for entry. Admission allowed only for the day and time slot purchased. People will enter the tour by the day and time slot they purchased.

What Are Your Sourcing Practices?
Fowler’s Chocolates is an SQF (Safe Quality Food), facility that complies with federal and state regulations/standards. We understand and share in our customers' concerns for where their food comes from and the welfare of those who produce it. The rights of children around the globe and the working conditions from which we receive our ingredients are of the utmost importance to us, and we carefully monitor our sources. Contrary to outdated and false postings on social media sites, we have no contact with--or contracts with--cocoa bean growers, and do not support the use of child labor in the cocoa bean industry.

Do You Ever Run Special Offers?
We offer occasional online and in-store promotions to our loyalty members and newsletter subscribers and Facebook and Instagram fans. These promotions are offered in thanks for their support and engagement with us. Since these offers do not apply to phone-in orders, we invite you to join one or both of these communities, which will give you access to these special offers.

Do You Have Any Job Openings?
Job opportunities are not routinely posted on our site.
