We purchased the dark chocolate-covered thin mint chocolates, but the mint filling was crystallized instead of smooth and creamy. We also bought the basic assorted collection. Unfortunately, several of the chocolates appeared to be dried out, with some discoloration that suggested they were beginning to dehydrate.

Overall, we weren't impressed with either the flavors or the fillings. Out of the entire assortment, we found only two chocolates that we truly enjoyed. At this price point, we feel Russell Stover offers a better overall assortment and value, which is kind of sad.

The sponge candy was decent, but that was the highlight of the purchase. We were genuinely hoping to love everything because we enjoy supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing, and we've had much better chocolates from other local chocolatiers as well as national brands.

Pricey, but a gift for former Buffaloneans always hits the spot

I bought a box of assorted chocolates. When I received the cardboard box I found that the box of chocolates had no silver bow holding it closed. It was at the bottom of the cardboard box along with four pieces of candy. The candy had a white color to it. The other candy’s I bought were not like that. Will have to rethink buying that item again.

Having grown up in Western, New York I always loved going to Fowlers. The smell of fresh chocolates could take you to the highest heavens. My all time favorite is the dark chocolate molasses chews or suckers along with the sponge candy. You can’t get better than that. I actually bought the chocolates for my sister’s birthday and she was so excited she almost cried. Unfortunately for us “Yankee’s” you can’t get GOOD chocolates in Tennessee. Thank the gods that you ship.

I grew up in Western NY and my parents always bought us orange chocolate from Fowlers. The Easter Bunny even had Fowlers recipe for orange chocolate and sponge candy. I have lived in another state for 49 years now and am so thankful that I can have chocolate delivered to my home. My children and grandchildren now all enjoy this wonderful WNY treat

One Aunt mentioned that she lived near the Fowlers of chocolate fame and the other told me I have excellent taste in chocolates!
